‘City Hunter’ is an original script based on the world-famous novel by Japan’s Tsukasa Hojo. Since it became public that Korea would be the first remake of this story into a drama, ‘City Hunter’ has been receiving worldwide attention. ‘City Hunter’ has switched the setting from Tokyo 1980 to Seoul 2011, and according to the original story structure, the protagonist becomes a city hunter and his character develops while resolving gratifying cases.
Lee Yoon Sung (Lee Min Ho) works at the Blue House’s National Communication Network Team and received his Ph.D at M.I.T. Kim Na Na (Park Min Young), a former judo athlete who works as a bodyguard for the President’s residence, the Blue House. Kim Na Na will eventually be involved in a love triangle with Lee Yoon Sung and prosecutor Lee Joon Hyuk (Kim Young Joo). The drama also marks Goo Ha Ra’s acting debut and she will play the role of the President’s daughter, Choi Da Hye.

Loved it. Many up all nights to watch cause I had to watch just one more, one more. Tons of action with fighting and car chases. So many twists your head will spin. Great acting by all. Moved to tears in several episodes. Totally hated Jin Pyo’s character for what he did to Yoon Sung and waited gleefully for his bad deeds to catch up with him. Thanks so much for this one, Space!

I just finished the drama today. after doing a marathon of episodes the past few days.. and i would have to say. GREAT DRAMA!
The Main characters ( Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young, Kim Sang Joong) along with the side characters like Lee Kwang Soo did an extraordinary performance! The Love line between Na Na and Yun Seong completely got me hooked hah. The alternating atmospheres of harsh and depressing along with happy and adorable that comes upon them at times throughout the drama, show the difficulties that they are facing. Kim Sang Joong’s acting was superb as well! he definitely made himself look very bloodlust, revenge mindset.
I’ve first known Lee Kwang Soo from “Running Man” and wanted to see him act again in a drama, and he sure keeps up his clumsy/funny personality with some intelligence =P.
I would personally give it a 8-9/10. hah DEFINITELY worth the watch everyone!

Good series. Nothing special though. Production values are excellent and story is good but there are times I wasn’t especially impressed. It’s a solid 9 though, so if you have time, it is a good watch.

Hello, Im really surprised what i read in the comments below! This drama is really highly rated among K-dramas (that is not only my opinion, look at some fan ratings). Please, if someone read these comments, dont let them change your opinion about watching this drama. It is really good and (in my opinion) mature. If someone said, that it is not for true drama lovers, I have to say, that I AM A DRAMA LOVER and I love City Hunter.
If you saw anime, or read the manga, I have to warn you: it is totally different story. But you will not be disappointed. Its really good

I was (..am) a big fan of City Hunter (the manga). And I was REALLY disappointed when I watched this drama.
It has nothing to do with the manga. I don’t even know why they took the name! It’s a complete diffrent story with diffrent characters. Didn’t like it at all.

Wah i can’t believe i almost missed this show! I really liked the anime so i don’t know why i didn’t checked it out earlier , well actually i know : i don’t normaly like action movies except for some ( martial arts movies, taekguki, brotherhood…), and this IS one of this exceptions , it’s just so cooooool, emotional and well done ! (love the realisation)
The first ep was daebak ! Absolutly stunning ! So anyone who’s hesitating just watch the first episode and you’ll be already into it.

Sort of a play-on the Count of Monte Cristo with judo and corrupt politics. I always thought that story was incredibly dark, so the main character’s conviction with not dwelling on the revenge aspect, but instead – bringing them to justice, was a plus. I enjoyed the twists in the story, even when I could see them coming, mostly because they were well crafted. It was the first Korean drama that I watched, so my current fascination with Kdrama can be blamed squarely on this show.

I have only watched the first episode but so far i rate it 9/10 for story (it made me bawl haha) and 10/10 for quality! I got the XVID version and WITHS2 for subs. I like it so far, its intriguing and I love Lee Min Ho! He is very expressive in his acting. I can’t wait to finish dl’ing and watching the rest!

90% of dramas are predictable after you see their movie posters and read the sinopsis!
) That’s not a big deal!! And of course they have beautiful leading actors and better actors for suport… That’s not something new! Some people are watching them for the leading actors, some people are watching for the scenario, others because of the producer…. etc!
You can’t expect to be surprised at every drama you see!

Yeah i just started watching it. Im up to episode 12. Its predictable but what i hate is he is a 28 year old man and soft as shit. He is too old to let his emotions get in the way in almost all his missions. So i guess this drama like Baek Dong Soo is for a younger audience. Another problem is he trained for like 28 years and act like he is afraid to kill after he did before. I wonder if in the manga does he actually kill.

It was a good drama.. From afar Kim Sang Joong was the best actor in this drama! Lee Min Ho surprised me with his acting skills, he’s more mature and more experienced in this one! He’s no longer only a pretty face but an actor. In the last two episodes he was so into character that I was almost moved!
You have drama, love, conspiracy, action, comedy….definitely worth waching!
